Lucky bamboo is the most popular and recognised Feng shui cure World-wide. It represents wood element- the only Feng shui element which is alive. It denotes growth.
The first question asked is how many stalks of bamboo should be kept. It depends upon our aspiration.
Number of stalks:
 2     for Love & marriage
 3     For happiness
 5     For health
 8     For wealth
 9     for Good fortune.

The next question is how to put the plant:
All the five elements of Feng shui should be present in the bamboo plant.
Wood- the plant itself
water-  The container should have some water. Also the plant grows with water.
Earth- Put some pebbles in the container to introduce earth element
Fire- Tie the plant with Red ribbon
Metal- the container should be prefably of metal
That is how all the 5 Feng shui elements are balanced in the cure.

Next question is where to put it:
The good sectors to put it are EAST, SOUTH-EAST, NORTH and SOUTH.
